What if We Were All Midgets
What if it Works?
Intro
I know what you're thinking about. Small little men walking around in the medieval times saying random things that have nothing to do with anything.
That's not what I'm talking about, in fact, midgets were believed to have magical powers.
What about dwarfs? What's the difference? Nothing Really, it's just two different names
What about dwarfs? What's the difference? Nothing really, it's just two different names. Although, midgets were a big thing back in the medieval times.
What we think it would be like?
Before and during the Elizabethan era, it was quite fashionable for royal and noble households to have a "pet dwarf" in residence. The dwarf would often take the place of a court jester, learning jokes and tricks to entertain the family and its guests.
It seems rather cruel to make such sport of the handicapped, but keep in mind that they didn't have the excessive diversions that we enjoy today. Dwarfs who secured such a dubious position were considered extremely fortunate, for they were almost always fed well and beautifully clothed, even during times of widespread hardship.
Remember though, if we were all midgets, we wouldn't all be "pets," we all be little tiny short men.
So what would happen then? Would we be able to tell the difference between each other, or not? I mean, we would all be midgets, in perspective, what would happen?
The world. The world would look different around us. Bigger, and taller, we could make the world shrink a little, but we still have one problem.
Sickness.
Midgets are midgets, because of a growth hormone deficiency. The most common types of dwarfism, known as skeletal dysplasias, are genetic. Skeletal dysplasias are conditions of abnormal bone growth that cause them to grow short.
That means our hormones wouldn't work properly. So what would that end up as? Well, if we had some type of disease or complication, we would only end up living for ten years.
That's very short! To prevent that from happening, there would have to be an increase in medicine so we could live longer. So there would be some type of revolution if we were all midgets.
So would happen if it Work?
It would most likely lead to some type of medical revolution, the world would have to slightly shrink. Other then that, we should be the same.
